It was 2006 when I first set foot inside the Lamb Shoppe. I had agreed to meet a friend there as she picked up some yarn and knitting needles for a new baby hat she was planning to make. In an instant, I found myself captivated by the alluring textures and the incredible rainbow of colors that filled the small shop. I hadn’t knitted since 3rd grade, but found that the Lamb Shoppe contained yarns that cried out to me to be knitted! After a quick refresher on the basics of knitting by the very helpful and knowledgeable staff, I was on my way home to knit a soft ivory hat out of baby alpaca wool.
I’ve made many trips to The Lamb Shoppe since that fateful day. After visiting the shop, a stroll through the surrounding blocks is a pleasant diversion as the Congress Park area has such a classic neighborhood feel.
