Go Play!
We believe that enjoying Denver's arts and culture scene is the perfect way to play, make new friends, and fall in love with the city. Here's what's on our radar right now.
Anna Karenina
The magic of the theater is that it’s an experience that whisks you away to another world. In the case of “Anna Karenina” at Denver Center that is the world of the Russian aristocracy of the 1800s. The social norms of this time may seem foreign and antiquated to today’s audience, but this play, like the great work of literature that inspired it, still has the power to draw us in through the universal struggle of love, romance and finding our place in the world. And after the curtain falls, the Continue Reading
Natura Obscura
Magical! Natura Obscura, an immersive art experience now open at The Museum of Outdoor Arts (in their indoor gallery space), offers visitors the chance to leave the everyday world behind and explore a surrealist forest that combines art, sculpture, and digital technologies. The captivating, transportive and relaxing environment engages all 5 senses, even smell (a scentscape is created using essential oils) and touch (visitors may touch things gently). The project was brought to life by Continue Reading
Orchid Showcase
When it’s cold and snowy where do we escape to? The Orangery at Denver Botanic Gardens! Coyote. Badger. Rattlesnake.
Had enough holiday-themed entertainment? The creative folks at Buntport invite you to come spend 90 minutes (give or take) exploring fake realness and real fakeness at their latest show, “Coyote. Badger. Rattlesnake.” The absurdist play takes place in a museum diorama as Carol and Glenn restore a Plains scene following an infestation that destroyed the previous diorama. The show has its laughs, its usual Buntport quirkiness, but ultimately left me wanting a clearer final message or more Continue Reading
Mindbender Mansion
Mindbender Mansion at Denver Museum of Nature and Science is SO MUCH FUN! People of all ages and abilities will find something to do in this exhibit that features dozens of different stations. Don’t miss your chance to play! Mindbender Continue Reading
A Christmas Carol
Is it going too far to say my year wouldn’t feel complete without seeing “A Christmas Carol” at the Denver Center? I don’t think so. Our family looks forward to this production each year, and every year, I find new meaning in this classic tale. Poignant, thought-provoking and joyous, the Denver Center production balances the darkness of the story with a Scrooge who is frequently humorous even when faced with the profound teachings of the ghosts who visit him. The music, singing, dancing and Continue Reading

The Constant Wife
Snappy and charming, "The Constant Wife," now playing at Denver Center, is a delightful evening of theater that will leave you wishing there was a sequel so you could continue to follow the adventures of the ever-so-savvy lead character, Constance. Set in 1920s London, the play is a fine example of a comedy of manners, a satire designed to critique societal norms, and draws the audience in with quick dialogue and amusing plots twists. If you love 1940s movies with well-crafted dialogue and Continue Reading
