Tiny Library Concert: Jake Schepps and Round Window

April 18, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Colorado’s banjo renaissance man, Jake Schepps, has made a name for himself as an adroit instrumentalist with an intrepid, imaginative vision for contemporary string-band music. His nimble touch and deep sensitivity to the five-string banjo’s idiomatic qualities are rooted in traditional and progressive bluegrass styles, yet his insatiable curiosity and open spirit have brought him to an exciting frontier of new acoustic music.

This special Tiny Library Concert features Jake Schepps with his latest project, Round Window. Schepps has gathered an intrepid group of musicians to play a brand new score composed by Schepps live to Buster Keaton’s classic silent comedy film, “The Scarecrow.” In addition, get ready for Brazilian choro, bluegrass, and classical music from string-band Round Window, featuring Bill Kopper (7-string guitar), Enion Pelta-Tiller (violin), Eric Thorin (double bass), Carl Dixon (percussion), and Schepps (banjo).

History Colorado’s Tiny Library Concert series is generously supported by Airshow Mastering and features performances by local Colorado musicians in the unusual and intimate space of the museum’s Stephen H. Hart Library & Research Center. Beer, wine, and cocktails available for purchase.

[Members $9, non-members $12]
