Tattered Cover Film Series – An Angel at My Table

Join the Tattered Cover Book Store, UCD’s College of Arts & Media, KUNC 91.5, and the Sie FilmCenter (in the Lowenstein CulturePlex, next door to the Tattered Cover Colfax Avenue) for an exploration of the world of classic movies, hosted by film critic Howie Movshovitz. All programs begin at 1:00 pm. Tickets are $1.00, and are available one hour before the screening from the box office. Parking is available in the parking lot off of Elizabeth or Columbine Streets.

This month: the 1990 Jane Campion classic An Angel at My Table.

Jane Campion’s film biography of New Zealand writer Janet Frame’s struggle with being profoundly unlike those around her. Frame spent eight dreadful years in a mental hospital before she found escape – figurative and literal – in writing. A fine performance by Kerry Fox in her first feature film. (158 minutes)
