(R)evolver provides a platform for Reach artists to present their own views regarding revolution and evolution as forces of change in society, culture and politics.
RedLine’s Reach Studio is an opportunity for socially engaged artists to collaborate, create, and share ideas in an inclusive community. This exhibition has been made possible by the generous support of the Buck Foundation, Colorado Creative Industries, Community Development Institute, Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design, Sidney E. Frank Foundation – Colorado Fund, and the Scientific & Cultural Facilities District.
R/Evolution is a series of exhibitions, programs, events, and community installations that examines the relationship between social revolution and cultural or political evolution. Historically, artists have often been at the vanguard of revolutionary actions. In this current political climate, how are contemporary artists exploring or helping to contextualize and digest local, national, or global issues through their creative practice? Historically, revolutions have paved the way for evolutions in social and cultural discourses and introduced new public policies. This exhibition and program series explores how this phenomenon is occurring in current contemporary art practice.
