Developing Your Artist Pitch
Do you get tongue tied when you meet a collector or gallery owner? Learn how to put together a compelling pitch so you’re always prepared to tell people about your work and your artistic practice.
Presenter: Deanne Gertner, Senior Project Manager, NINE dot ARTS
Colorado-born and bred Deanne Gertner works as a Senior Project Manager at NINE dot ARTS, where she makes art programs happen on budget and on time, often before construction is even complete. Deanne has played a key role in several NINE dot ARTS projects, specializing in large-scale, multi-phase hotels, such as Hotel Commonwealth in Boston and DoubleTree by Hilton Austin. Her upcoming projects include ground-up hotels in Boulder and Fort Collins, Colorado as well as Savannah, Georgia. She joined NINE dot ARTS in 2013 after working in the nonprofit arts sector for over five years with the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts. Deanne holds an English Literature and Fine Arts degree from Regis University and an MFA in Creative Writing from the Vermont College of Fine Arts. She currently sits on the board for Lighthouse Writer’s Workshop as Development Chair in addition to serving as a pro bono Ambassdor Writer for Presenting Denver. Deanne’s previous volunteer experience includes the Denver Art Museum’s CultureHaus Board, Center for Visual Art, Arts for Colorado and Create Denver to name a few. She was a finalist for the EY Emerging Leader in the Arts and has been published in Quaint Magazine and Scintilla.
