Meet the Christkind, the namesake of the Denver Christkindl Market ! Visit with St. Nikolaus.

The Christkind is the traditional Christmas gift-bringer in parts of Germany, Austria, and in other European countries. A fairy-like being with her white and golden dress, blond locks and golden crown, the Christkind has been the symbol of our event for years now. The idea that the Christkind brings children their Christmas gifts goes back to the protestant reformer, Martin Luther (1483-1546).

The Christkind visited the Grand Opening Ceremony to recite her famous prologue to welcome visitors to the Denver Christkindl Market. The young and young at heart will have the opportunity to meet and take pictures with her as she pays regular visits to “her” market.
