Denver Rocks! Let's do cool things!
Guess who’s coming to town this winter…
It’s Krampusnacht at the Denver Christkindl Market!
Krampus celebrations take place every year on Dec. 5, the eve of St. Nicholas’ Day in Austro-Bavarian Alpine folklore. During Christmas season Krampus, a horned, half-goat, half-demon figure, punishes children who have misbehaved, in contrast with St. Nicholas, who rewards the well-behaved with gifts.
Regions in Europe feature similar figures and while its origin of remains unclear, this Krampus celebration is just good fun… unless, of course, you’ve misbehaved…
