Bio: “Paper Bird’s Esmé Patterson flies solo,” mused Denver’s Westword in Summer of 2012. Since that time this fierce and brilliant songwriter’s altitude and velocity has only increased. As a founding member of the Americana group Paper Bird, Patterson’s songwriting is at the heart of the folk and roll explosion in Denver, CO. Never one to have too many irons in the fire, Patterson appears on Anais Mitchell’s Hadestown, has performed on both Letterman and Leno as a backup singer for Tennis, and has collaborated with Shakey Graves and Nathaniel Rateliff. Woman to Woman, a concept album, is her second solo release.
