52 NEW: Axe Throwing
Relatively simple to learn, but addictive if your at all competitive and want to keep trying for the bullseye or that perfect throw. Today I joined an amazingly fun group of folks with LIM 359 to throw some axes Bad Axe Throwing Each throwing alley had an assigned coach. Wow. What a difference it makes to get feedback on all your shots by someone with experience and then be able to make improvements. Continue Reading
52 NEW: Executive Producer
As of last weekend, I’m an executive producer! For the past two weekends, I’ve worked with Trish Tolentino and Jess of Stories Not Forgotten and Rebekah Henderson of Tan Tigress to film a series of videos that will become part of an exciting zine-making curriculum project I’m working on called From A to Zine. This IMAGINE 2020 Fund grant-winning project will bring zine making into 4th-8th grade classrooms as a way to celebrate and amplify student voices. Continue Reading
52 NEW: Kickboxing
Whew! Well, that was awesome. As part of my #gpd52new project where I try something new each week, I headed to FLY Kickkbox to try kickboxing! Shout out to Jamaica and Briana who helped wrap my hands, gave me some pointers and made me feel so welcome! The workout was fast paced, but thankfully, there were regular breaks to catch your breath and have some water. Continue Reading
52 NEW: Yoga
Yoga (and I actually really like it! Thanks for taking me Bre Patterson of Bites with Bre!). Why try something new? Because taking risks and feeling vulnerable invites us to discover new parts of our ourselves. When grappling with something new, we’re forced to be present. Continue Reading
Anna Karenina
The magic of the theater is that it’s an experience that whisks you away to another world. In the case of “Anna Karenina” at Denver Center that is the world of the Russian aristocracy of the 1800s. The social norms of this time may seem foreign and antiquated to today’s audience, but this play, like the great work of literature that inspired it, still has the power to draw us in through the universal struggle of love, romance and finding our place in the world. And after the curtain falls, the Continue Reading

The captivating, transportive and relaxing environment engages all 5 senses, even smell (a scentscape is created using essential oils) and touch (visitors may touch things gently). The project was brought to life by Continue Reading

Coyote. Badger. Rattlesnake.
Had enough holiday-themed entertainment? The creative folks at Buntport invite you to come spend 90 minutes (give or take) exploring fake realness and real fakeness at their latest show, “Coyote. Badger. Rattlesnake.” The absurdist play takes place in a museum diorama as Carol and Glenn restore a Plains scene following an infestation that destroyed the previous diorama. The show has its laughs, its usual Buntport quirkiness, but ultimately left me wanting a clearer final message or more Continue Reading
