The magic of the theater is that it’s an experience that whisks you away to another world. In the case of “Anna Karenina” at Denver Center that is the world of the Russian aristocracy of the 1800s. The social norms of this time may seem foreign and antiquated to today’s audience, but this play, like the great work of literature that inspired it, still has the power to draw us in through the universal struggle of love, romance and finding our place in the world. And after the curtain falls, the conversations last all the way home. Would we have made the same choice as Anna to pursue a love that has the power to destroy her marriage? How do we know when it’s passion and when it’s love? Can one forgive an affair? What are love and marriage really all about? . 🎭 Anna Karenina is playing now through 2/24.
